Ceres-Negros FC announced yesterday the arrival of Spanish footballer Toni Doblas who will be joining the club for this year's football season.
The 37-year old goalkeeper comes to the club with an extensive resume which includes stints in La Liga and Seria A, Ceres media announced.
The 1.90m goalkeeper also has stints in Finland, Azerbaijan, and in Asia with Indian club Delhi Dynamos.
The Spaniard has earned won trophies starting with the Copa del Ray in the 2004-2005 season with Real Betis and the Coppa Italia in the 2013-2014 season with Napoli. He has also won league and cup titles with Finnish club HJK Helsinki.
Doblas' experience at goal will be vital as Ceres-Negros embarks in its first AFC Champions League qualifying campaign which starts on January 16 in Yangon, Myanmar, the club announced.
Earlier, Ceres-Negros FC named two former JP Voltes players, Japanese striker Takumi Uesato and versatile player Sean Kane as the new members of the team.
Doblas, Uesato and Kane are expected to fill the posts vacated by Kota Kawase, Fernando Rodriguez, Iain Ramsay, Roland Müller, Josh Grommen and Luke Woodland, who will not be suiting up for club this season.
Still with the club are Patrick Reichelt, Louie Michael Casas, Manny Ott, Arnie Pasinabo, Carlie De Murga, Martin Steuble, Bienvenido Marañon, Stephan Schrock, Omid Nazari, Junior Muñoz, Kevin Ingreso, OJ Porteria, Jeffrey Christaens, Ed Sacapaño, Super Herrera, Joshua Dutosme and Nessi Ramos.*NAB
