Posting of contributions of the Social Security System will be in ‘real-time' as it will implement its electronic Collection System, or eCS, starting Jan. 16.
Manual method of paying contributions of all members of SSS will not be accepted starting Jan. 16, as the system will now require a Payment Reference Number (PRN) that could be acquired online through the SSS website.
Communications analyst Janice Diaz said yesterday that this program is mandatory and will be implemented this month, under Circular 2017-10 of the Social Security Commission, to ensure that contributions will be posted ‘real-time' as soon the premium is paid.
eCS will address problems on delayed posting of contributions through online processing, where a member will just fill up the payment forms through the SSS website, Diaz said.
Once the forms are filled-up online, a PRN will be given to the employer, voluntary members, overseas Filipino workers, and other members who regularly contribute to the agency, she added.
PRNs will initially be given through emails as the SSS website continues to have its system upgrade, Diaz said.
“Once they have their PRNs, they could just present it to any SSS branch together with their payments as it will automatically be recorded and be posted real time,” Diaz said.
She added that this program is limited to collection of contributions only. Registrations and loan payments are still being processed manually at SSS.
However, she assured that those who cannot access or do not know how to process online may seek the assistance of SSS in any branch in Negros Island.
With this new method, manual processing of SSS contribution collections will be converted to this electronic system in mid-January.
This method already started last year with household members; however, there were many who are still non-compliant, she said.
With the program implemented this year, the expansion of the SSS e-center in Bacolod is now eyed to cater to more members, Diaz said. *MLG
