PUJ fare hike pushed

Drivers groups in Negros Occidental are calling for fare hikes with the expected increase in the price of fuel under the new tax law.

Jessie Ortega, Sentrong Samahan ng Tsuper at Operators ng Negros secretary general, said they are calling for a fare of P8 for the first 5 kilometers.

 Diego Malacad, United Negros Drivers and Operators Center secretary general, said they are calling for P750 for the first 5 kilometers.

The Federation of Bacolod City Drivers Association head, Elizabeth Katalbas, said they are asking for the implementation of their petition for a P1 hike to bring the regular fare up to P8.*CPG
