Businesswoman shot dead?

Riding-in-tandem suspects shot and killed a businesswoman Wednesday night at the New Town Subdivision in Brgy. 1 poblacion, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The victim, identified by the San Carlos City police as Aileen Tanjay, 50, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Tanjay was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Hospital by Dr. Romeo Agraviador Jr., the police said.

Police investigations showed that the victim was shot by one of two suspects riding on a motorcycle.

Police probers are still investigating the motive for the killing of Tanjay, and the identities of the two suspects behind her death.

A motorcycle rider was also declared dead on arrival at the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial Hospital, after he and his elder brother figured in an accident at the national highway of Brgy. Romiranh, Isabela town.

The fatality was identified by the Isabela police as Ramil Ramirez, 28, while his elder brother, Reynaldo, 31, survived, despite injuries he suffered as a result of the accident.

Investigations of the Isabela police showed that the motorcycle of Reynaldo was about to overtake another vehicle, when another motorcycle overtook them.

When Reynaldo applied the brakes on his motorcycle, he and his younger brother fell into the road.

Both were brought to a hospital in Isabela town, where Ramil was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Rama Espinosa, the Isabela police said.

In Purok Mainuswagon in Brgy. Saguabanwa, Valladolid, Negros Occidental, a 37 year-old man was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, after he allegedly slashed her wrist with a stainless knife on Wednesday.

The Valladolid police identified him as Joewie Patalinhog, 37, of the place.

He was found by his mother, Ana Maria, inside their comfort room , with a lacerated wound on his left wrist, the Valladolid police said.

The police also recovered a suicide note and a stainless steel knife at the comfort room. * GPB
