The highway at the boundary between barangays Ani-e and Laga-an in Calatrava that cracked after a landslide triggered by Tropical Depression Agaton was still impassable as of yesterday, town Councilor Honey Boy Goc-ong, chairman of the Search, Rescue and Retrieval Task Unit, said.
The Department of Public Works and Highways brought in heavy equipment to repair the road, he said.
Hopefully the road will be passable today, he said.
There is a 55-meter crack down the road and a hole about 65 centimeters down believed to have been caused by liquefaction due to the continuous seeping of water from the mountains into the soil, Goc-ong said.*CPG
