Uesato, Kane join Ceres-Negros
as Kawase, Rodriguez move on

Japanese striker Takumi Uesato and versatile player Sean Kane are joining the Ceres-Negros FC for the 2018 season as Kota Kawase, Fernando Rodriguez, Iain Ramsay, Roland Müller, Josh Grommen and Luke Woodland are moving on to the next phase of their respective career.

In its official website, Ceres-Negros announced that Uesato and Kane, who used to play for the JP Voltes Marikina in the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League, will be part of the Bacolod City-squad this football season.

Uesato was a former player of Japanese club Kyoto Sanga in his younger years, where he played for three seasons. He brought his talents to JP Voltes in midway in 2016 after stints in Okinawa and Austria where he spent four years, Ceres-Negros posted on its website.

Considered as one of the best strikers to play in the country, Uesato scored 16 goals for JPV Marikina in the PFL last year.

“He will be a welcome addition to the squad that is gearing to play in multiple tournaments this season,” the Ceres-Negros media bureau announced.

Kane, on the other hand, is a member of the national men's football team, the Azkals, and played for Kaya FC in the 2016 UFL season before signing up with JPV last year.

The 26-year year old versatile player was born in the Philippines but learned his football in Sweden. He later moved on to the Unites States where he played college football in California.

“I'm very pleased to have signed with Ceres. It's a great club and a great environment for me to continue to grow as a player,” Kane said in a report posted on Ceres-Negros website.

Meanwhile, despite the departure from the team of Kawase, Rodriguez, Muller, Ramsay, Grommen and Woodland, Ceres announced that the core of the champion team that won the AFC Asean Zonal title and the inaugural PFL crown is intact.

Continuing with the club are former captains in Patrick Reichelt, Louie Michael Casas, Manny Ott, Arnie Pasinabo, Carlie De Murga, and Martin Steuble.

Veteran players in Bienvenido Marañon, Stephan Schrock, Omid Nazari, Junior Muñoz, Kevin Ingreso, OJ Porteria, Jeffrey Christaens, Ed Sacapaño, and Super Herrera will also be back for the upcoming season, Ceres-Negros announced.

Young guns in Joshua Dutosme and Nessi Ramos will also be present for the title defense in the PFL, the club added.*
