Employee in Sipalay
falls from govít center


A government employee who fell from the third floor of the New Government Center in Brgy. Gil Montilla, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, Sunday died yesterday, the police said.

Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay City police chief, yesterday said it was accident.

Investigations of the Sipalay police showed the victim, identified as Romeo Britania, was checking a reported crack on the third floor of the Sipalay City Hall, after an earthquake, when he fell.

Vargas said Britania suffered injuries in both legs, his shoulder and in his head. He was initially brought to the Sipalay City Health Office and later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

The death of Britania, a draftsman for 25 years of the Sipalay City government, was announced during the flag raising ceremony, Vargas added.*GPB
