PNP: No additional
drug free city brgys

No additional barangays in Bacolod City have been declared “drug-free” since parameters on the declaration have been modified, Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, Bacolod City Police Office officer-in-charge, said yesterday.

Only three out of 61 barangays in Bacolodwere declared as cleared from drugs last year. These were barangays 5, 41, and 24, Senior Insp. Armilyn Vargas, BCPO public information officer, said.

Ebreosaid no additional barangays have been cleared because the parameters state that no barangay shall be declared cleared if there is even one existing surrenderer who has not been rehabilitated.

So all surrenderers of the barangay must be subjected to rehabilitation for it to declared drug-cleared, Ebreosaid.*SGG
