Cops nab ‘agaw motor' suspect

One of the suspects in the “agaw-motor” incident at Santo Niño Stop in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, Wednesday, was arrested for stealing wires in PurokLampirong, Barangay 2 in Bacolod City, at about 3 p.m. yesterday.

Police Station 2 personnel nabbed Glenn Olvidado, 29, of PurokLampirong, during a follow-up operation, Chief Insp. BenedictoVillarias, the station's commander, said.

Olvidado was accused of scalingdelivery trucks passing the area and stealing wires, Villarias said.

He said Olvidado was also one of the two suspects positively identified through the Rogues' Gallery of Station 2 by the two motorcycle riders whom they victimized, in Barngay 2, at about 2:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Olvidado and his companion, whose name the police withheld pending the filing of charges against him, stole the Yamaha Mio motorcycle driven by JomarySy, 28, and Ian Rey Dioso, 26, of Barangay Mandalagan in Bacolod, Villarias said.

Sy and Dioso tried to flee but the motorcycle fell when one of the suspects grabbed the wheel. One of them also drew a bladed weapon and attempted to stab Dioso but he evaded the attack, a police report said.

Sy and Dioso ran towards the direction of Police Station 2with the suspects chasing them but they ran to an unknown direction upon seeing the patrolling police car, police records show.

The motorcycle was recovered in a follow-up operation, in PurokLampirong, Barangay 2, the police said.

Villarias said charges for attempted homicide and carnapping willbe filed against Olvidado and his companion.

Olvidado is now locked up at the custodial facility of Station 2.*SGG
