MSW Bleachers stop
Talisay inFil-Sino Class A basketball

MSW Bleachers Sports Bar-Brew Kettle held off Talisay Miggies-Tanduay Ice, 76-71, to close out the elimination round in Class A of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup, Tuesday night at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

MSW Bleachers led from start to finish, but had some anxious moments as the lead was cut to 74-71 with 40 seconds left. Jojo Gabayoyo saved the day for MSW with a fadeaway jumper to seal the deal.

Mark De La Cruz paced MSW Bleachers with 14 points as Arnol Laureño added 11. Cabayoyo finished with 10, Derek Sibug dropped 9 and JR Salga had 8 points.

Talisay Miggies was led by Nicole Antiporda and Irvin De La Peña with 14 points each, Ryan Hugnatan shot 12, Bryan Alunan and Bonbon Posecion made 11 points apiece and Angelo Calupit scored 9 points.

Meanwhile, Fyr Fyter/Dobinsons-Colt 45 notched second place in Bracket A defeating Young Lions-Beer na BeerStrong, 94-85.

Fyr Fyter never looked back when they erected a comfortable halftime cushion of 53-30 behind Sonny Abaring and Jobel Abaring's combined output of 24 points.

Sonny Abaring finished the game with 27 points while Jobel tallied 16, Stanley Tizon hits13, Aldrich Afuang with 10 points and Winnnie Alvarez, 8 points.

Ricky Despi led the Young Lions with 24 points backstopped by Jaybee Alic, Eduard Garganera and Rimor Taronas with 16 points each.

Shakeys/La Carlota-Cobra Plus Smart kept Blitz Villamonte Heineken winless, 104-80.*
