SP ratifies 25-year
contract of Bredco

The Sangguniang Panlungsod ratified yesterday the memorandum of agreement between the Bacolod City government and the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp.for the operation of the city port by the latter for another 25 years.
The BREDCO contract was ratified by a vote of 10-2 with one abstention, Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairperson of SP committee on laws and ordinances, said.
‘Cult' members kill 4 farmers

Four farmers, three of them female, were shot dead by suspected members of a cult called “Pulahan”, while they were taking a break from harvesting sugarcane in Barangay Napacao, Siaton, Negros Oriental, at about 8 a.m. yesterday.
A fifth farmer was injured and rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete. He was identified as Lito de Jesus, 28, of Mantiquil, Siaton.
Those killed on the spot were identified by their kin as Consolacion Cadivida, 66, and her daughter, Jesibel Aballe, 36, and Carmelina Amantillo, 57, all of Sitio Bondo in Napacao, Siaton, and Felimon Molero, 66, from Sitio Salngan in Mayabon, Zamboanguita. .

30 egg machines
The Provincial Veterinary Office turned over 30 egg machines, worth P3 million,to the fifth and sixth districts to help boost egg supply in south Negros, PVO head, Dr. Renante Decena, said yesterday.
The egg machines were given to 30 livestock associations in the two egg deficit districts, he said.
