Noneco power rates
increase in February
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Power rates of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative are up by 0.6593 cents for February, its corporate planning manager,  Paul Almedilla , said yesterday.

The effective rate for February is PHP11.6801 per kilowatt hour, he said.

The increase is partly due to the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law that now imposes a 12 percent value added tax on the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Almedilla said.

On the generation side, there is an increase in rates because of the implementation, based on Energy Regulatory Commission order approving, of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation's recovery and an increase of Greencore's new rate for 2018, he added.*CPG
