Summit, Creamy Delight
win in Fil-Sino basketball

Summit defeated Sunkist, 75-72, while Creamy Delight grounded Nestea, 70-55, in Class B of the Fil-Sino Basketball Asia Brewery Cup, Friday night at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The trio of Gerson Medel, Roger Montalbo and Chibon Uy caught fire early and conspired for 26 points to give Sunkist a double digit lead against Summit.

Summit bounced back in the next two quarters to turn the tables on Sunkist and move ahead, 60-56, behind Marc Lo's15 points and Kieron Tan's 8 points.

Ruel Bahian scored 8 points to lead a Sunkist rally but Summit responded with 9 points from Efraim Valencia to remain undefeated in the tournament.

Lo led Summit with 19 points as Valencia tallied 15 and Tan finished with 10 points.

Bahian topscored for Sunkist with 16 points while, Medal added 11, all in the first quarter, and Chibon Uy shot 10 points.

In the other game, Nestea opened with a 19-13 advantage, but could not sustain the lead as Creamy Delight limited Nestea's scoring output in the next three quarters to secure the win.

Jerson Mira paced Creamy Delight with 15 points while Mike Miranda added 13 and Jessie Moreño drilled 12 points.

Rey Pandoro spearheaded Nestea with 14 points, Dane Ma hit 10 and Jasper Geolingo scored 9 points.

Meanwhile, Cobra, led by Jeremy Coo's 20 points, dominated Absolute 94-76, while Barista routed Ultimo, 109-87 .*
