Tourism awareness forum
to be held today in Bacolod

About 1,300 tourism and hospitality management practitioners, students, experts and stakeholders will attend the #7NEWJUANDERS2018: The Seven New and Enterprising Ways of Growing Philippine Tourism Awareness and Local Economies 2018, at the L'Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City today.

Provincial Supervising Tourism Operations officer Cristine Mansinares said that the regional gathering aims to give the stakeholders fresh ideas for better tourism operations in Western Visayas.

#7NEWJUANDERS will bring in seven outstanding Filipinos or ‘Juanders' in various industries to talk about seven new and enterprising ways (NEW), Mansinares said.

The Tourism Educators and Movers Philippines-Western Visayas and The Dream Project PH lead this one-day event, in partnership with the Provincial Tourism Office, Department of Tourism-Western Visayas, the Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, and 034 Creatives.

A press release from #7NEWJUANDERS organizers also said that this also aims to challenge the Filipino youth and stakeholders to take part in transforming the Philippines through Filipino ingenuity and innovation.

Among the seven ‘Juanders' who will attend the event are IdeaSpace Foundation executive director Diane Eustaquio, Plus63 Design Co. founder Dan Matutina, Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum Carlo Delantar, restaurateur Maragarita Fores, Cropital founder Ruel Amparo, Futuristic Aviation and Maritime Enterprise Inc. founder Junjun Fetizanan, and FrontLearners founder Elaine Velez.

They will discuss startup revolution, redesigning thinking, sustainable design, culinary reinvention, financial technology, seal safety, and education innovation. *MLG
