660 evacuate in Dumaguete

A total of 161 families, comprising of 660 individuals, were evacuated Tuesday at about 11:45 p.m. to evacuation centers due to Typhoon Basyang in Dumaguete City.

In Poblacion 1, 24 families with 77 persons were evacuated to the City High School gymnasium in Poblacion 8, 44 families with 201 individuals stayed in the Barangay Hall and Twin Building in Candau-ay, 13 families with 63 persons evacuated to the Balugo Church, 9 families with 15 persons evacuated to the Candau-ay BADC Bldg.; in Junob, only 2 families with 12 individuals stayed in the Junob BADC building, while 4 families with 21 persons stayed in the Junob Brgy Hall.

In Barangay Cadawinonan, 15 families with 59 persons stayed in Cadawinonan Elementary School; Bunao, 3 families with 11 individuals stayed in Barangay Bunao Hall; Batinguel, 6 families or 30 persons in the Angatan Barangay Hall; Tabuc-Tubig, 34 families with 130 individuals at the Angatan Day Care Center.

There were no casualties and all roads have been passable since yesterday, City Public Information Officer Dems Rey Demecillo said.*
