undergo drug tests
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Forty police officers assigned in various police stations of  Negros Occidental yesterday underwent a surprise drug testing at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.

Police Inspector Charmae De Paz, Public Information Officer of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, yesterday said those who are found positive for drug use, will be slapped with administrative charges.

The 40 police officers composed of 30 policemen and 10 policewomen, are  presently undergoing a police correspondence seminar conducted by the Provincial Personnel Management Unit, with drug testing initiated by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Intelligence Unit.

De Paz said the drug testing is part of the internal cleansing program of the PNP, following the strategic direction of Police Regional Office 6 “We Perform as We Transform”.

The results of the drug testing are expected to be known in the next two weeks.*GPB
