‘Strictly monitor
foreigners' visas'
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A resolution requesting the Bureau of Immigration-Bacolod through the City Mayor's Office to strictly monitor the status of visas/permits to stay of foreign nationals or aliens in Bacolod City, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

The resolution authored by Councilor Bart Orola said there is a need to promote international order and justice by denying the use of Philippine territory, and, more specifically, Bacolod City territory, to persons who are engaged, or likely to engage in terrorism, human smuggling or trafficking, in criminal and other nefarious activities.

It said there is also a need to strictly monitor the status of visas/permits to stay of foreign nationals/aliens, to ensure that they are not overstaying, or unlawfully residing in the city, or violating any immigration laws, rules and regulations.*CGS
