Motorcycle driver
dies in mishap

A motorcycle driver died when his bike slammed into a car, when its handlebar hit a tricycle causing him to lose control, in Matuog, Barangay Basak, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Vicente Bayer, 24, single, and a college student, from Brgy. Hibaiyo, Guihulngan City.

Investigation revealed that the tricycle-for-hire stopped to pick up a passenger, and when the XRM motorcycle of the victim, overtook it going south, his handlebar hit the tricycle, he lost control and hit the car of Bryan Glumalid , 29, single, a Philippine Army member from Capiz presently assigned in Guihulngan City.

Bayer was thrown off his motorcycle and hit the road. He sustained head injuries due to the impact.

The police brought the victim to the Guihulngan District Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician.

Glumalid was temporarily detained at the Guihulngan City Police Station.*RG
