UNO-R, SJI spikers
join Beach Volley tilt

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and St. John's Institute from Bacolod City are joining six other teams from Dumaguete City, Cebu City, Siquijor, Siaton, and host Bayawan City in the 2018 Tawo-Tawo Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament slated this weekend in Bayawan, Negros Oriental.

The UNO-R team, composed of JennymarSenares and Nikka Ann Medina, is bracketed in Pool A with Siaton, Bayawan and Timagrey Dumaguete, while SJI is in Pool B with FPA Dumaguete, Cebu Ninos and Siquijor.

The UnoRians will play against Timagrey in the opening game on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. followed by the match between FPA-Dumaguete and Sigquijor.

Bayawan will face RJ-Siaton in their first game while SJI will start their bid against Cebu Ninos.

The tournament adopts a single round elimination system for ranking with cross-over quarter-finals up to the finals which will be played in a best-of-3 format.

Organized as part of Bayawan's 2018 Fiesta Celebration and Sports Tourism Month, the tournament has the full support of Mayor Pryde Henry Teves.
