About P386,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from 10 persons, including two high value targets (HVTs), during a series of anti-illegal drugs operations in Bacolod City, during the weekend.
Operatives of the Bacolod City Intelligence Unit nabbed Elias Cabugatan, 36, and Edwin Vivero, who areboth HVTs, at La Herencia Subdivision in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod, at about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Supt. NasruddinTayuan, head of the CIU said yesterday.
Seven sachets of suspected shabu with a street-value of about P300,000 and P3,000 in cash, including the marked money, were confiscated from Cabugatan and Vivero, Tayuan said.
Meanwhile, a suspected pusher and his companion were arrested during a buy-bust operation in PurokSigay, Barangay 2 in Bacolod, at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday.
Members of Police Station 2 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 apprehended Alfred Diaz, 29, the subject of the operation, a police report said.
The police also nabbed Richville Espinosa, 30, of Zone 15 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, who allegedly conspired with Diaz.
Two big sachets of suspected shabu worth P50,000, P500 in marked money, P1,000 in cash, and an improvised tooter with traces of suspected shabu, were seized from Espinosa and Diaz, police records show.
Meanwhile, a newly-identified street level target was arrested in Purok San Roque, Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod, at about 1:15 a.m. yesterday.
Police Station 10 personnel nabbed Domingo Jimenez, alias “Mingoy”, 24, in possession of five sachets of suspected shabu, a plastic canister, and P200 in marked money, a police report said.
The police placed the street-value of the suspected shabu at P1,000.
Meanwhile, Station 7 personnel arrested five persons in PurokKabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod, at about 4:20 p.m. Friday.
Nabbed were GoeffreyTiapon, 41, GericMedel, 22, Joel Sinon, 47, Alejandro Toriano, 47, and Felix Baguio, 31, the police said.
The operation yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu, P1,150 in cash including the marked money, several drugs paraphernalia, and an improvised .45 caliber pistol with four live cartridge cases, police records show.
The street value of the seized item was placed at P35,000, the police added.
The suspects may face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*SGG
