Cops nab suspected thief

A man suspected of stealing 45-day-old chickens was arrested in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 in Bacolod City, at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Police Station 2 personnel conducted a hot-pursuit operation and nabbed Glenn Olvidado, 29, of Barangay 2, a police report said.

Olvidado boarded a Fuso Canter truck loaded with 1,500 live 45- days old chickens and took two crates containing 30 live ones from the vehicle's rear cargo portion, Eduardo Navarro, 50, of Barangay 35 in Bacolod, the driver of the truck, told Station 2 personnel.

Only 15 live chickens were recovered from Olvidado during his arrest, police records show.

The police said Olvidado is now detained at the custodial facility of Station 2.

Meanwhile, two minors reported having been robbed of cash and a cellular phone at 16th-Lacson streets in Barangay 4, Bacolod, at about 11 p.m. Friday.

The minors, aged 14 and 15 years old, told the police that they were walking at the street when three men walked along with them, and one of them who likes wearing a ball cap and a black T-shirt bearing the “Fubu” print on it, declared a hold-up.

The minor and the suspects took their P218 in cash and a cellular phone worth P3,500, before escaping to an unknown direction, police records show.*SGG
