4 injured in
Candoni accident

Four persons,including a pregnant woman, suffered injuries, after the vehicle they were riding figured in an accident Saturday in Brgy. Caningay, Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Injured were Jun Jun Acbu,36, Ma. Lourdes Docal. 32, who is pregnant ,Filadelpo Gayundato, 31, and a two-year-old child, all residents of Santa Fe, Leyte.

The victims were riding in a Fuso boom truck carrying carnival rides driven by Rene Boy Valenzuela, and on their way to Candoni, when the accident took place, reports of the Candoni Disaster Relief Management Council showed.

The truck reportedly went out of control, while negotiating a downhill portion of the road and fell on its side, with the four passengers riding at its back.

The four victims are now being treated for their injuries at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, after being given initial treatment at the Candoni infirmary clinic.

The victims left Leyte on Jan. 31 and were on their way to Candoni, when the accident happened.*GPB
