PNP eyeing new
drug personalities

The Bacolod City Police Office is monitoring new groups of drug personalities operating in Bacolod, Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, BCPO head, said yesterday.

Ebreo, however, did not disclose how many these new groups are.

He said the existing groups replaced those who were earlier nabbed in anti-drugs operations.

The “Tokhangers,” or the police officers conducting “tokhang”, havealready visited 21 houses and revisited 74 houses of suspected drug personalities, since the Tokhang Reboot started Monday, Ebreo said.

Of thewatchlisted drug personalities, 20 street level targets, and a high value target have already surrendered while 26 newly-identified drug personalities have also voluntarily surrendered, he said.

The police also installed Tokhang drop boxes to elicit information from the community. The information will be subjected to thorough validation, he said.

Since the resumption of police anti-drugs operations on Dec. 23, 2017 up to Jan. 31, 2018, the BCPO has arrested 74 persons, conducted 47 operations, and filed 129 casesin the Courts, Ebreo said.

The anti-drugs campaign during the same period yielded 75.43 grams of shabu and 40.71 grams of marijuana, with a total street value of P755,804, Ebreo also said.*SGG
