Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently invited the mayors of neighboring cities and town of Bacolod to harmonize their Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUPs).
The cities areTalisay, Silay, and Bago, and the town of Murcia, a press release from the city said yesterday.
Bacolod CPDO head Mary Jean Ramos and Kelly Grant Guerrero met with fellow CPD coordinators Edwin De Nicolas and Ernie Earl Baylon of Bago City; Glenda Ruiz and Efren Francisco of Murcia; and MarmeloSausi of Talisay City at the Bacolod City Government Center recently, to discuss infrastructure projects to be incorporated in the proposed CLUP of Bacolod City.
“Bacolod City takes into consideration the growth and development of its neighboring cities and tries to incorporate it in its proposed CLUP,”Ramos said.
“This is important in order to achieve a synchronized and harmonious development among Bacolod, Talisay, Bago and Murcia,” she added.
Their discussion focused road and bridges infrastructures, such as the New Bacolod Economic Highway, the proposed coastal road and viaduct, and farm-to-market road including Sugar Road; and the proposed public transport system that includes the light rail transit and bus rapid transit systems.
This was the first in a series of meetings to take place in the coming months, Ramos added.
The CLUP of Bacolod is a 10-year development program based on the vision of Bacolod Mayor EvelioLeonardia. It will be the basis for the proposed amendment of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 216 Series of 1998, and it will determine specific uses of land and other physical and natural resources in Bacolod City, the press release added
