The New People’s Army in Negros Island yesterday marked the 50th founding anniversary of its political wing the Communist Party of the Philippines – an occasion that it said is in memory of, and for seeking justice for the nine murdered sugar farm workers in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, two months ago.

Ka Juanito Magbanua, spokesperson of the NPA Apolinario Gatmaitan Command, who led the celebration yesterday in an undisclosed place in Negros Island, claimed that more than 3,000 spectators attended the activity.
