The anti-drug campaign of the Bacolod City Police Office in the 11 months of 2018 yielded P38 million in drugs, Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, BCPO acting city director, said yesterday.
This does not include the recent P3 million worth of suspected shabu seized from two women, one of whom had been jailed for drug-related cases that were eventually dismissed, in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Wednesday night, the police said.
Operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 7 arrested Mylane Khate Arroz, 38, and Judy Solano, 23, with four sachets of suspected shabu, police records show.
Arroz denied ownership of the illegal drugs, saying that her business is selling “ukay-ukay” or used clothing.
BCPO records show that from January 1 to November 30, 2018, they had seized 2,504 grams of shabu with a street value of P37,561,335 and 296 grams of marijuana worth P68,191.
In the 11 month period, 615 drug personalities, including 46 high-value targets, 54 street-level targets, and 515 newly-identified ones, were arrested, Ebreo said.
The Bacolod police also filed 1,040 cases in courts, he added.*
