P45M in fire stations to rise


The Bureau of Fire Protection in Negros Occidental with the local governments of Pontevedra town, and cities of Silay and Talisay, broke ground for the construction of P45 million worth of fire stations, yesterday.

Silay mayor Mark Andrew Arthur Golez, and BFP-6 regional director Alan Aladano led the groundbreaking of the Silay Fire Station at Zamora Street in Barangay Mambulac, Silay.

A similar activity was held at the New Talisay City Hall Compound in Brgy. Zone 12A, Talisay, where the Talisay Fire Station will be constructed.

Pontevedra mayor Jose Benito Alonso and Aladano also broke ground for the construction of the town’s fire station located in Barangay 1, Pontevedra.

The Silay and Talisay city fire stations cost P19 million each, while the Pontevedra Fire Station is worth P7 million.

The groundbreaking ceremonies signaled the start of the construction of these fire stations.*SGG
