BY JOEVEL A. BARTOLOME

Two public schools in Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, the Catalino Soliguen National High School and the Miranda Elementary School, experienced flooding yesterday morning after concrete pipes overflowed due to heavy rains, Mayor Jose Benito Alonso said.

The flooding happened first at CSNHS, causing officials to suspend classes. The water also reached MES later, but no suspension of classes was announced.

“A detour was put in place for the flood control project of the Department of Public Works and Highways, however the concrete pipes were too small. They overflowed after the rain we experienced on Tuesday night,” Alonso said. moremoremore
