to gain from bridges

President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed Thursday night that Negros Occidental will benefit from his administration’s “build, build, build” program through bridges that will connect it to Guimaras and Panay, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday.
Duterte was at a private dinner at the house of Emily Yanson at Ayala North Point in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, Thursday night until early yesterday, the vice governor, who was among those present, said.

The promise to be a better version of herself could have been the reason why Danice Decolongon of Ilog was chosen to be the new Lin-ay sang Negros at the jampacked Panaad Stadium in Barangay Manslingan, Bacolod City, last night.
Decolongon bested 26 other candidates from the towns and cities of Negros Occidental in the 3-hour beauty pageant attended by a crowd of close to 4,000.“I will be a better version of myself. And as we celebrate the Panaad sa Negros 25 th year, like silver, it will continue to shine… And the unity of the province will be a guide for the future generations,” Decolongon said in response to the final question “If you are to make a promise and fulfill it in the next 25 years, what would it be and why?”

Pasidungog awards today

Senator Cynthia Villar, Senate committee chair for Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform, will lead the awarding of the 62 Negrense farmers, fisherfolk, and livestock raisers at the Pasidungog sa Panguma, Pangisda, kag Manugsagod sang Kasapatan today at the Panaad Stadium in Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The awarding is one of the highlights of the 25th Panaad sa Negros Festival that will recognize the agricultural movers in the province composed of individuals and various farmers associations.Apart from Villar, Department of Agriculture regional director Remelyn Recoter will also be present during the awarding, together with Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-6 director Remia Aparri.
