Three Bacoleño fathers were sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for the sale of drugs, while a mother was set free.
Executive Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 separately sentenced Lido Portilla Sombilla, Reymund Ensimo Galve and Ruben Tagaban dela Cruz to life imprisonment and ordered them to each pay fines of P500,000.
Their immediate transfer to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City was also ordered.
Sombilla was sentenced to two life imprisonments for selling .05 gram of shabu for P500 to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency poseur-buyer, and for possession of 11.24 grams of shabu at Purok Cadena de Amor, Phase 6B, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, on Aug. 19, 2011.
Sombilla was also found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia and sentenced to six months and one day to two years and seven months imprisonment and to pay a fine P10,000.
His wife Beverly Sayon Sombilla was also arrested for having in her possession .05 gram of shabu on Aug. 19, 2011 and was sentenced to 12 years and 8 months as minimum to 17 years and eight months as maximum and to pay a fine of P300,000.
Galve was sentenced to life imprisonment for the sale of .017 gram of shabu for P200 to a police poseur buyer at Purok AC Yulo, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod, on Aug. 1, 2015.
Dela Cruz was sentenced to life imprisonment for selling .042 gram of shabu for P300 to a police poseur buyer at Purok Tinagong Paraiso, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, on July 16, 2012.
He was also sentenced to 12 years and eight months to 17 years and eight months and to pay a fine of P300,000 for possession .192 gram of shabu, and to six month and one day to two years and seven months for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, Javier found Marissa Panhilason Parandas not guilty of the sale and possession of illegal drugs in Purok Cereza 1, Barangay 27, Bacolod, on May 9, 2011 and ordered her release from detention.*CPG
