Bacolod junior tenpin bowlers
compete at Makati tournament


Young bowlers from the Sugarbowl Tenpin Bowling Association Inc. (STAI) saw action in the 29 th TBAM-Prima Pasta Easter Open held t Apr. 1- 9 at Superbowl in Makati Cinema Square.

Hosted by the Tenpin Bowlers Association of Makati (TBAM), a member of Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF), the tournament had eight categories, the Mixed Open, Men's Graded, Men's Associate, Mixed Ladies, Men's Senior, Ladies' Senior, Youth Mixed, and 15 & Under Mixed.

The junior bowlers from STAI, who joined the Youth Mixed Masters and 15 & Under Mixed Masters categories were JJ Besa, Andrea Alvizo, Nicole Agujo, Kenneth Agujo, Alyana Abelada, Marc Linas, Rephael Besana, Syd Vista, and Hans Bona.

Besa and Alvizo qualified in the Top 18 of the Youth Mixed event after battling it out with other youthbowlers from different associations, while the rest of their teammates tried competed in the 15 & Under Mixed Masters.

Besa advanced to the final stage of the Youth Mixed Masters and placed 18 th while the brother-sister duo of Kenneth and Nicole Agujo placed 5 th and 15 th, respectively, in the 15 & Under Mixed Masters.

Before heading for Manila to join the tournament, the STAI youth bowlers underwent basic training under the watchful eye of Coaches Herman Santos and Billy Lopue. Among those who supported them were Paolo JustinLopue (Youth President/Coordinator) and Joyce Santos (Assistant Youth Coordinator).

November last year, the STAI youth bowlers were also invited by the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA)for a training session with their Team Prima players, which established close ties between STAI and Team Prima.*
