29 jailers negative for drug use
BY SHIELA G. GELERA

Twenty-nine personnel of the Metro Bacolod District Jail-Male Dorm Annex in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City and the Jail Provincial Administrator’s Office in Negros Occidental, yielded negative for drug use in a random drug testing yesterday.

Tested were 26 personnel from the MBDJ-MDA, including their warden, Senior Insp. Norberto Miciano Jr., and three personnel from the JPAO.

The jail personnel submitted their urine samples to members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Regional Health Service Unit of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-6, who administered the tests.

Miciano said the result is a good development since it showed that the jail personnel are not into illegal drugs.

Members of the Religious Service Providers Council and the media witnessed the drug testing, which is part of the internal cleansing of the BJMP.

In January this year, personnel of MBDJ-MDA were also tested for drugs and their results were likewise negative.*SGG
