The owner of a business establishment in Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City, has paid P14,493 in surcharges and administrative fines, for failure to secure a building permit, in violation of Presidential Decree 1096, or the National Building Code.
Building inspector Julio Castro of the Office of the Building Official said Liance Tiu, owner of the establishment with business name Gerci Cafe, paid P4,025 in surcharges, P5,000 in administrative fines, and P5,468 in other fees, or a total of P14,493, on April 2, at the Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office.
Tiu applied for a business permit on March 23 after he was issued a notice of violation by the OBO on March 6.
Executive assistant Samuel Montoyo Sr., a member of the Anti-Red Tape Act Core Team, had requested the OBO to inspect the establishment after receiving reports that it has renovated the sidewalk around the area.*CGS
