4 drown in Negros
BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Four persons, one a woman, drowned from Friday to Sunday in the cities of Cadiz, Silay and Talisay, Negros Occidental, police records show.

The lifeless body of Joven Cabading was found floating Sunday in a river at Hacienda Tabayag, Brgy. Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Investigations of the Talisay City police showed that the victim and his friends were having a drinking spree along the river, before he was found and was declared dead on arrival at the Talisay City Health Office.

A drowning victim was also found yesterday at the seashore of Brgy. Banquerohan in Cadiz City. His identity is still being established.

Reynaldo Oredina also drowned, while attempting to rescue 57-year-old Georgina Pesante on Saturday at a river in Brgy. Kapitan Ramon, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Oredina and Pesante were both declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, according to the police.*GPB
