Members of the Ramos and Poja drug groups were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental, and in Bacolod City, Saturday and Friday.
A total of P525,000 in drugs were also seized, the police said yesterday.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Occidental nabbed Arnel Sabdiong in Barangay 3, Hinigaran, at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a PDEA-6 report said.
Sabdiong, who was tagged by PDEA as a member of the Ramos Drug Group, sold a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, the report said.
Four more sachets of suspected shabu and several drugs paraphernalia were also seized from Sabdiong, the PDEA report added.
The PDEA estimated the seized suspected shabu from Sabdiong at P50,000.
In Bacolod City, about P375,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from two siblings in Purok Maabi-abihon, Barangay 35 in Bacolod City, at about 3 p.m. Saturday, a report from the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit, said.
The CDEU operatives nabbed George Valente, 49, who was the subject of the operation, and his sister Jennelyn Valente, 36, the report said.
Five big and three elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, and P1,000 in marked money were seized from the Valentes, police records show.
The confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 18 grams had a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P375,000, the police said.
The Valentes are now detained at the custodial facility of Station 1 and charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them.
Meanwhile, a member of the Poja Drug Group and five others were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 8, Bacolod, Friday.
Nabbed was Fritchel Ramos, who is linked to the Poja Drug Group, a PDEA report also said.
Also apprehended were Rosalie Araiz, Timojin Sumido, Robert Magbanua, Wilmar Mallorga, and Bobby Palomo, records show.
Five sachets, or about 20 grams of shabu, with an estimated market value of P100,000, and several drugs paraphernalia were recovered during the operation, the report added.
