DOLE Bacolod asked to inspect
businesses on safety compliance

A resolution requesting the Department of Labor and Employment-Bacolod to inspect all business establishments that are under construction, renovation, and repairs, on whether the laborers/workers are provided with protective gear such as hard hats/helmets and others, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Bartolome Orola, also requested the DOLE to inspect working sites, if these are provided with safety nets and other measures for the safety and protection of construction workers and bystanders, as required under the National Building Code or Republic Act 6541.

There is no doubt that the apparent side-by-side infrastructure developments have greatly influenced the city’s economic progress and has dramatically changed the landscape of Bacolod City, it said.

MSME online market to be expanded

The Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Science and Technology are teaming up to help micro, small and medium enterprises expand their market reach online through the OneSTore.ph platform.

The OneSTore.ph is the first government e-commerce platform dedicated to marketing high-quality Filipino products of MSMEs through the worldwide web by “bringing quality products to Filipino doorsteps", a government press release said.

Under the OneSTore.ph agreement, DTI will promote the oneSTore.ph to MSMEs through Negosyo Centers as a platform where they can market their products online.
