Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor yesterday said he has invited former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte-Carpio to the Isabela Annual Fiesta on April 15 to 21.
He also invited Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Malabor said in a press release.
But Malabor said he is still waiting for their confirmation.
He invited Arroyo to give her recognition as the she was reportedly instrumental in the realization of the Socio-Cultural Center of the town, he said.
The family of the former President’s husband, Mike Arroyo, has roots in Isabela town, and still owns landholdings in the locality.
This year’s annual fiesta on the theme “Tumandok Ugyon Kita para sa Kadalag-an kag Kauswagan sang Banwang Tinubuan” is also geared to relive the town’s history and heritage, Malabor said.
It will also highlight the street dancing contest that will feature the tribal dances of the indigenous people in the locality, he added.
So far Malabor said, he has met with the six tribes of the IPs in the locality and their chieftains who will take part in the festival, the press release added.*
