SP ratifies IPM’s contract

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod ratified the contract of service between the city and IPM- Construction and Development Corp. for the operation and management of the sanitary landfill in Brgy. Felisa, Bacolod City, Wednesday night.

Bacolod Councilor Em Ang yesterday said they saw the urgency to approve the contract so IPM-CDC can already start the management of the SLF.

She said Councilor Ricardo Tan, the temporary presiding officer, yielded the chair to Councilor Renecito Novero, so he could manifest his negative vote.

Councilor Claudio Puentevella was out of the session hall when the contract was ratified, while Councilor Gamboa was on leave.

Councilor Caesar Distrito said the contract should have taken effect April, so theyapproved its ratification after the mayor sent an urgent request to ratify the contract.

The contract took effect upon its ratification by the SP, he said.

IPM-CDC had submitted a bid price of P71,984,261.26, covering nine months, from April 1 to December 31, while the Approved Budget for the Contract is P72 million.

The city will pay IPM-CDC P7,998,251.25 monthly for the operation and management of the sanitary landfill.*CGS
