Bejoy wins silver, bronze medals
in SEA Youth Athletics games

Sixteen-year-old Bernalyn Bejoy of Romanito Maravilla National High School in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City won a silver and a couple of bronze medals in the 13 th Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships held in Thailand early this week.

Bejoy finished second in girls’ 400-meter hurdles and third in 800-meter run, and with her teammates from the Philippine team, secured another third place finish in girls’ 4x400m relay.

A consistent podium finisher in various national competitions, including the Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy, Bejoy is one of the outstanding athletics’ talents trained by the brother and sister tandem of Miguel and Adriana Arca, also teachers from RMNHS.

Twin softball tourneys set in Manapla

The Negros First 2nd Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. Area 2 Inter-Hacienda Summer League and the 1 st Lourdes Socorro Escalante Open Summer League will open simultaneously in Manapla, Negros Occidental, on April. 28.

The twin tournaments will feature softball talents from host Manapla and the neighboring areas of Cadiz and Sagay. Venue for the games is the Hda. Lourdes Ballpark in Manapla with playing schedules during the weekend.

As of press time, six teams from Manapla, Cadiz, and Sagay are confirmed to see action in the 2 nd Gov. Marañon tournament.
