A professor of a university in Manila and two others, one a drug surrenderer, were nabbed during a buy-bust operation at an inn at Araneta-Luzuriaga streets in Barangay 13, Bacolod City, at about 11:50 p.m. on Black Saturday.
Personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Police Station 1 arrested professor Alexander Enarle, 50, a resident of Barangay Guinhalaran in Silay City, Negros Occidental, who is tagged as a High-Value Target, a report from Police Regional Office-6, said yesterday.
Also apprehended were Ramil Mahilum, 48, of Barangay Banago in Bacolod, a drug surrenderer, and Cristita Caramit, 53, of Barangay Guinhalaran, the report said.
The operation yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, two disposable lighters and two improvised tooters, records show.
Meanwhile, about P75,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from Ruffa Ubas and Gregg Aruda during a buy-bust operation in Purok Star Apple 2, Barangay 27 in Bacolod, last week.
A minor was also apprehended for allegedly selling suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Purok Santo Niño, Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod, on Good Friday.
Police Station 10 confiscated two small sachets of suspected shabu worth P7,500 and an improvised tooter from the 15-year-old boy, police records added.*SGG
