Anti-divorce service set

The Our Lady of Candles Parish in Bacolod City will hold a prayer service to oppose the divorce bill in Congress and to uphold the value of Christian marriage 6 p.m. today, its parish priest, Fr. Felix Pasquin, said yesterday.

Participants will be married couples, the youth, and members of lay associations and movements, he said.

The prayer service will be capped by the lighting of candidates , he said.

We are interested in how our Negros congressmen voted, he said.

Pasquin said they are against divorce because it contravenes God's plan and purpose for marriage.

“Divorce truly affects children making them grow up confused, bitter and angry. God hates divorce andas the book of the prophet Malachi points out, divorce will result to death of a righteous civilization,” he added.*
