NCR in HIV-AIDS cases

Bacolod City is second to the National Capital Region in terms of the number of documented HIV-AIDS or Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome cases by the Department of Health Epidemiology Bureau.

The Philippine HIV-AIDS Registry of the DOH said, 34,999 Filipinos were diagnosed positive from 1984 to 2016 with Bacolod registering 261 cases,Dr.Loyd Brendan Norella, program director of Hivos Southeast Asia, said at a recent meeting with the Rotary Club of Bacolod Central and government health practitioners, non-government organizations and private institutions.

Norella is a medical doctor, psychologist, author and public health specialist with more than 18 years of experience in managing local and international programs focusing on HIV-AIDS and tuberculosis in Indonesia, Malaysia, Timor Leste and the Philippines. moremoremore
