Cops nab ‘drug leader'
- most wanted in WV

The alleged drug group leader in Iloilo, and four of his companions, who were arrested Thursday night in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, turned out to be the number one most wanted person in the Western Visayas.

Senior Inspector Leomel Gonzaga, Hinobaan police officer-in-charge, said yesterday that the arrested murder suspect he identified as Arturo Balume Sr. is also the leader of the Balume Drug Group, aside from being the number one most-wanted person in Region 6.

Balume is facing two counts of murder, with an arrest warrant issued by Barotac Viejo Judge Rogelio Amador, who also denied him bail, Gonzaga said. moremoremore

What did President Rodrigo Duterte mean yesterday when he said he was restoring the “original set up” in his speech at the opening rites of the Buglasan Festival 2017 at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental?

Some people who heard the speech took it to mean he may restore the Negros Island Region that he recently abolished.

But apparently there was no reason to get excited.

President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday vowed to build strong and well-equipped military and police forces, before his term ends.

“Terrorism will not disappear, we anticipate another assault maybe this time in two or three places in the Philippines but we are prepared,” said Duterte, who was the keynote speaker at the opening ceremonies of the 2017 Buglasan Festival at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
