Former Ateneo de Manila volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez will be joining her Creamline Cool Smashers teammates when they play against Pocari Sweat in the fourth leg of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour, Oct. 18 at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum.

In a press conference yesterday, Bea Tan of Grid Athletic Sports, said Valdez has confirmed her participation and together with Jia Morado, will lead Creamline against the Myla Pablo and Melissa Gohing-anchored Pocari Sweat.

The game between the Cool Smashers and the Lady Warriors will start at 4 p.m. followed by the match-up between Air Force and Banko Perlas. The event will also feature Bacolod Tay Tung High School against USLS junior girls' volleyball teams in the 2 p.m. preliminary game.

Dell Palomata, a former player of USLS, will be suiting up for the Air Force team.

“This is our way of bringing the sports that we are passionate about outside of Metro Manila and to different communities,” Charo Soriano, also a former player of Ateneo de Manila said.

Through the PVL On Tour, Soriano said they want to inspire athletes to become better and reach their maximum potential.

After launching the out-of-town tour of the PVL in Tuguegarao City on Oct. 7, Tan said the second leg will be held in Batangas this Sunday, the third leg in Iloilo on Oct. 17 and the fourth leg in Bacolod.

For the Bacolod leg, Tan said they are partnering with the USLS as the beneficiary of the event.

“This our way of giving back and sharing not only our passion for the sport

but also something tangible for the next generation of athletes,” Tan said.

PVL on Tour will run until February next year and after the finals of the collegiate competitions, Soriano said they hope to have more teams joining the out-of-town games.

Aside from Valdez and Morado, the Creamline lineup also includes Aerieal Patnongon, Coleen Laurice Bravo, Jamela Suyat, Mary Jean Balse-Pabayo, Jonalyn Ibisa, Ivy Elayne Remulla, Angela Nunag, Maria Paulina Soriano, Alexine Cabaños, Rizza Jane Mandapat, Rosemarie Vargas and Aurea Francesca Racraquin.

Playing with Pablo and Gohing for the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors are: Jessey Laine De Leon, Janet Serafica, Roma Joy Doromal, Jeanette Panaga, Maricar Nepomuceno, Elaine Kasilag, Gyzelle Sy, Audrey Kathryn Paran, Fille Cainglet–Cayetano, Siemens Desiree Dadang, and Gayle Rose Valdez.*NAB
