The soft opening of the Seda Capitol Central hotel at North Capitol Road, Bacolod, will be on the third week of October in time for the last part of the MassKara Festival, Andrea Mastellone, senior group general manager, said yesterday.
Mastellone, who, along with other SEDA officials, met with Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. at the Capitol in Bacolod City, said for sure there will be a lot of business for them in Bacolod, it being a top model city of the country and with so many ongoing developments.
“Bacolod has a fantastic environment and the economy is growing,” he said.
Mastellone said they are completing some final touches and expect the hotel to be ready for a soft opening between October 15 to 20.
Seda Capitol Central manager Rhett Villaruz said they are looking at opening 52 out of its 154 rooms on the second and third floors of the hotel then.
They are also opening the swimming pool on the second floor and the entire ground floor that includes a restaurant called Misto, function rooms, the lobby and the reception counter, Villaruz added.
The hotel also has 54 parking slots for its clients on the ground floor, he added.
Mistoserves international and Filipino delicacies, and will focus on the fantastic food served in Negros, Mastellone said.
The Capitol Central is the seventh Seda hotel in the country, Villaruz said, adding that they will have an initial staff of 75 who are all from the province.
Mastellone saidit is a four star hotel and room rates will range from P5,000 to P7,000 a night on an average with different rates for various categories.
“We will have reasonable to competitive rates,” he said.
He said they would also like the Capitol Lagoon Park in frontof the hotel that is under renovation by Ayala Land Inc., opened soon so their guests can also take advantage of it.
The building beside the hotel is a BPO facility that will open at a later date, Villaruz said.*CPG
