New coast guard district up

Captain Artemio Abu has been named the new and first commander of the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV), a newly activated district.

The CGDSV has a jurisdiction over coast guard stations in the cities of Dumaguete and Bacolod in NegrosIsland, the Philippine Coast Guard reported on its Facebook page.

Abu took his oath before PCG chief Commodore Joel Garcia, also a Negrense, at the PCG headquarters in Manila, yesterday.*SGG
