Deputy House Speaker Mercedes Alvarez (Neg. Occ., 6th district) and Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia were among the 1,300 guests at the gala dinner hosted by President Rodrigo Duterte for world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, at the SMX Complex in Pasay City last night.

Duterte, in his speech, offered a toast “to the unity, centrality, solidarity and continued success ofASEAN” as he welcomed 22 world leaders participating in the 31st ASEAN Summit andRelated Summits.

“I am deeply honored to host this rare occasion where a number of world leaders are gathered incelebration of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN,” he said. moremoremore

Mayor says BBWI welcome
but occupancy permit needed

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he welcomes the entry of bulk water to Bacolod City but the Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. should comply with the required occupancy permit.

Leonardia said he will ask the Office of the Building Official to help BBWI to comply but not to the extent that it should take the short cut.

The BBWI started conducting a test run on Nov. 4 after having passed the water quality testing conducted by the Bacolod City Water District. . moremoremore

NegOcc PDC okays P185M
additional projects for 2018

The Provincial Development Council of Negros Occidental has approved an additional P185.5 million worth of projects to be funded in its P8.1 billion annual investment plan for next year.

Provincial Planning and Development coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal said the additional projects were approved Friday during PDC's executive meeting at the Governor's Office of the Capitol in Bacolod City.

The projects include the rehabilitation of Brgy. Bato-Baviera-Colonia Divina farm-to-market road with bridge in Sagay City worth P184,500,000, and the Disaster Preparedness Program of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center worth P1 million..
