Rape suspect injured
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A rape suspect, who was trying to escape from arresting police officers, was injured, after he jumped from a police vehicle Thursday in Brgy. Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The rape suspect, identified as Julio Olvido, was apprehended by virtue of an arrest warrant for the crime of rape, issued by Cadiz Regional Trial Court Judge Renato Muñez, in Hacienda San Jose 2, Brgy. Luna, Cadiz City, police records show.

Inspector Charmae De Paz, Public Information Officer of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said Olvido, 59, resisted arrest, before he was handcuffed by the arresting police officers.

While he was being transported to the police station of Cadiz City, Olvido kicked SPO1 Dearlie Bilbar and jumped from the police vehicle.

However, he suffered injuries when he fell on the cemented road. He was immediately brought to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic for treatment of his injuries.

Olvido was denied bail by Judge Muñez.

In Cadiz City, a certain Albert Ayuno was also arrested by the police for illegal possession of firearms in Brgy. Zone 4.

The apprehension of Ayuno yielded a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition, that he allegedly used in threatening customers of a KTV bar in the place.

The police also recovered a 9mm Luger model KG9 pistol with a magazine assembly, that was voluntarily surrendered by Isidro Salazar on Nov. 2 in Brgy. Amayco, Murcia.*GPB
