City to host int'l meet

Bacolod City will host the 7th IMACO (International Mask Arts and Culture Organization) International Conference in 2019, Councilor Em Ang said yesterday.

Ang, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Tourism and action officer of MassKara Festival, and Mayor Evelio Leonardia are currently attending the 6th IMACO International Conference in Vientiane, Lao PDR (People's Democratic Republic), also known as Laos, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.

Ang, in her Facebook page post, said Leonardia signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday with IMACO President Kweon Young Sae to host the biennial international conference two years from now. moremoremore

A complaint has been lodged before Police Station 4 that a 5-storey apartment type gravecontaining the remains of nine members of the Libosada family was discovered missing Wednesday during the celebration of All Saints' Dayat the Bacolod Public Cemetery in Burgos Street, Bacolod City.

General Services Office head Jerome Solinap said yesterday that his office received several complaints particularly that of the Libosada family who claimed that a new structure was constructed in the place where thegrave of their departed family members once stood.

The complainants reported the matter to Police Station 4 and sought their assistance in locating the bones of their dead relatives, he said. moremoremore

North Negros power plant
groundbreaking set Nov. 8

The groundbreaking for the North Negros BioPower (NNBI) plant will be held in Manapla town, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday.

The North Negros BioPower is a ThomasLloyd SICAV-SIF-Cleantech Infrastructure Fund biomass power plant project being built on a 300,000 square-meter property, a press release from NNBI said.

Construction work on the 24.99-megawatt biomass power plant started in the second quarter of 2017. It is the third of a package of three sister plants..
