Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said he has instructed the new acting Negros Island Region police director not to allow himself to be influenced by certain people trying to“expand”, and to continue the relentless campaign against illegal drugs.
He said Chief Supt. Edmund Gonzales, the new acting regional police director of Negros Island Region, met with him Friday morning.
No arrests, just
warnings amid confusion

The Land Transportation Office-6, covering Negros and Panay islands,is giving out warnings, instead of apprehending violators of Republic Act 10913, or the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, following some confusion on its implementation.
LTO-6 regional director Roland Ramos, said this yesterday after they received many complaints and reactions from drivers who claim the law is not clear.

HPT intensifies operations
against traffic violations

Fifty-one citation tickets and Temporary Operators Permits were issued by personnel of the Highway Patrol Team in Negros Oriental yesterday.
The HPT, headed by Senior Inspector Robelito Mariano, yesterday intensified its conduct of anti-carnapping operations and monitoring of violations of the Land Transportation Code of the Philippines.
